I bought some old shutters a while back and had them sitting around collecting dust. I knew I wanted to use them for something but I didn't quite know what. I decided to paint and stain one set of shutters for a project in my bedroom (which will be revealed later). I had them sitting in my living room waiting for me to take them upstairs (which can be days in this house). I was sitting there, looking at them and then I decided what I wanted to do with my other shutters.
There is a fairly large picture over my couch but the rest of the wall seems so empty. I was never sure what else to put there....now I know...MY SHUTTERS!!
So I painted them an olive green color, then I went over that with some ASCP in old white. I sanded them down to distress it some and went over them with a brown glaze.
I am pretty happy with the way they turned out. I can use them to hang holiday decor on or whatever strikes my fancy. So for now I put some Halloween decor on them. I think it helps to fill in the space more, and I just love the look of shutters, so they make me happy :)Thanks for taking a peek!
