More furniture projects!!

The other day I was checking out a favorite blog/store site of mine....it's for a local thrift/junk shop. http://ginasjunkandantiques.blogspot.com/ ..it's pretty neat and awesome deals! Anyway I was looking through it and in one of the pictures of a twin bed frame I noticed it was propped against something that had a neat architectural look. So I asked Miss Gina (the store owner) if it was what I was hoping it was....a king headboard! To my surprise it was a king headboard....and frame...for $65.00. Needless to say I rushed over there that morning to check it out. When I got there I didn't see it....but then she showed me where it was...outside. I really liked the detail of the headboard...it reminded me of old cathedral windows....but the frame seemed small to me. So I wasn't sure what I should do. I went home to think it over.....called the shop and asked for the measurements of the frame...and it matched the one I have....sooooo I bought it!! I am super excited about re-doing this piece. I have been wanting to change out my bed for some time now....and I love that I am able to for such a good price! I am hoping to get some Annie Sloan chalk paint and use it for the first time on this headboard. I want to give it a distressed white look...any suggestions??

Thanks for visiting my blog. What a small world that you also lived in Chester County, PA. And guess what, we are thinking about moving to GA!

I have never used Annie Sloan's Chalk Paint, however, I have heard great things about it.

    I am now a follower.

  5. What a great looking headboard. I would just use the Old White chalk paint and then sand some off to distress it and wax it. That should be all you have to do.
